I guess everyone\’s taste is different but I think this is a wonderful book.

It is full of the cutest pictures anecdotes and recipes. It also gives a little history of her life and past growing up I really adore her wish I lived nearby will try my best to get a job with her! I don\’t understand any bad reviews for this book if you love angel you will love her book! I just wish I could afford all of her books I\’m sure the rest are just as fabulous and more. One person found this helpful. Love this book! As a graphic designer I am drawn to products with great branding,.

This book not only has the design style that Angel Adoree is known for but some really delicious recipes and creative crafts. I couldn\’t wait to receive it and would recommend it to anyone that want to have a bit of fun. I already love it. Have all 3 books and A year at the Chateau. Love them all, the illustrations are fabulous! Not sure what folks are talking about some of it being hard to read, I found them easy to read and colorful. THe quality of all the books is amazing! If you love her you will love her books!

Although many of us now rely on the internet for recipes — this is one cookbook worth having! Its design and its vintage recipes are unique and exquisite. This is the perfect gift for anyone who loves to make special desserts and try unusual recipes — even has instructions for making old-fashioned candied violets for cake decorating!

Welcome to the whimsical world of Angel Adoree and the delightful illustrations of Adele Mildred! Lots of fun recipes and ideas all put forth in the most stylish way.

Brilliantly charming all around! I read about this book in a magazine and it sounded so cute and tantalizing. Very disappointed in the whole thing. I love this book. The illustrations are charming. Some of the recipes require a little more effort than I am used to putting into my cooking but they are still fun to read.

The book also includes some enjoyable vintage crafting ideas. Both a recipe book and a fun coffee table book. Very enjoyable! I am a fan of all the Vintage books written by Angel Adoree.. This book is really \”English\” in that the recipes are truly very \”Brit\”.

The pictures and illustrations are so darling. Its a treasure for anyone who loves to make candies or just adores anything British. Fun to just look through too! See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. I bought this book to make sweets. First of all the wording is difficult to see because the colours and images go over the writing.

For one example there was dark red background with black writing on a couple of pages. Quite a bit of the book has crafts – eg \’How to decorate tins\’, \’How to make scratch cards, How to make a cheese safe – you will need a hacksaw! This book is fairly useless for me This book was a huge disappointment. I shall be passing this on someone who also like to craft but I cannot think of anyone who would want this.

Have other Angel Adoree books and they are lovely quality books. Very happy with both purchases. Not really a children\’s book despite the recipes, it\’s too sophisticated. If you love sweets, this is probably the definite book for making them.

This is a beautifully presented book which is a real pleasure to look at. I was expecting purely a recipe book, however it also contains instructions for making craft items. I have knocked off a star for this because I felt it wasted space which could have contained more recipes, but I\’m sure other people will be pleased with the extra additions. A good thing about this book is it starts with the easier sweets and works through to those which take more skill to make.

This makes it handy for those who want to learn about each stage of sugar work before moving on to the next challenge. Great ideas for sweet making. It is beautifuly illustrated throughout. It would make a fantastic present for anyone who Loves Angel and has a sweet tooth of course. Report abuse. What other items do customers buy after viewing this item? The book may be a specially produced edition. First editions are usually the most valuable, but first translations, or specially amended versions may also be highly valued.

Print Materials Used. An edition may be highly prized by collectors because of its characteristics as a physical object. For example, it may be printed on valuable type of paper or other material. Books on Chinese art and calligraphy, for instance, have been printed on silk, while nearly all books produced prior to were inscribed onto vellum. Less often, a secondhand book may command a high price because of its miniature or exotic format, or pop-up content. Added Value.

Almost any object may have value \”added\” to it, and books are no exception. A copy of the exhibition program to the Armory Show in New York, autographed and inscribed by the avant-garde artist Marcel Duchamp might be worth a six-figure sum. Physical Condition. While insufficient by itself to add rarity or intrinsic value to an art book, its physical condition – especially the quality of its colour plates, illuminations or illustrations – may be crucial to its value.

All rare antiquarian books must fulfill at least one of these five criteria: some may satisfy several.

If you don\’t want to waste your time on the Internet, searching for endless hours, make use of these special so-called Meta-Search-Engines for the antiquarian fine art book market:. Enter a topic, author or Keyword and the search-engine runs a combined search of all book-related websites.

You can further refine these searches by using the more advanced options provided. Even better, you can buy most of the books directly from the booksellers. Let\’s say for example you found a result of a search for a rare monograph on Picasso, with an original lithograph. At \”Vialibri\” and \”Addall\”, they will most likely show the results of listings at Amazon , Abebooks and Choosebooks , but in many cases you can also see the very same book offered \”Direct from Bookseller\”.

The link \”Direct from Bookseller\” will take you straight to the booksellers\’ website, which is often your friendliest and best option.

For details of our favourite online dealer, see: Time Traveller\’s Bookshop. There are two potential problems when buying rare secondhand art books online. To begin with, not all websites provide sufficient information about the items in their rare books catalogue. Also, websites have been known to list books as available, when in fact they are not in stock at all. Bottom line: ideally, shop around until you find a reliable dealer. Nearly all websites dealing in antiquarian art books charge for shipping.

This can be expensive. Bottom line: find a reliable dealer who doesn\’t charge for shipping. See, for instance, Time Traveller\’s Bookshop. Since approximately , thousands of specialist antiquarian bookdealers worldwide are offering rare art books online. Dealing with members of bookseller-organizations or professional booksellers – rather than private individuals selling secondhand art books on eBay or elsewhere – does not guarantee quality of descriptions or fair trade, but it does help you to establish a commercial relationship in the market, which may be valuable in the long run.

Furthermore, a minimum of common sense can help you to determine the professionalism of a dealer: look at their websites and their book descriptions; don\’t be afraid to ask a few questions by email; and you should get a feel for the service they offer.

We recommend The Time Traveller\’s Bookshop for two reasons:. Furthermore, the firm has good contacts with important book dealers around the world and regularly obtains art books from private collections of serious collectors, scholars and booksellers, located mostly around the most important universities in North America and Britain.
