As for the version of Desktop Pro: 17 years in, it was the fastest and easiest install of QB ever — and that was done using the disc. I tried the URL noted on the box, but it took me to a marketing page, and I wasn\’t going to hunt for the download link.

After completing the install, importing the company file, and finishing a few minor bits of housekeeping, everything was running just fine under Windows Next, I ran the update routine manually: it downloaded 1. After installing, restarting, etc. This, too, was successful and seems to be well in my QB world.

In all, I\’m pleasantly surprised by the update-and-migrate experience. Upgraded to QB \’21 from my old \’13 version. Tech and uprades were dropped and it would kick off every so often, so it was a matter of time. Installed the disc, put in the license and it dowloaded the program with all my data installed perfectly.

Have three different accounts so I had to use a new password in each one, that was it. Has run for two months with no problems. Kinda pricey but losing my data made it worth it.
