Long story short I tried to use the option in within windows to restore to an earlier date. Came back to find machine turned off. Powered up machine to reach a blue screen with the 0xca stop code,. Cannot do much else as I have forgotten the admin password. Tried numerous cmd commands to check disk, system files, check mbr and bcd. This from a bootable usb and shift F10 at install Windows screen.

So little progress. Nothing helped Windows start. Couldn\’t fix anything because of forgotten admin password. Used a cmd command to clear it. Windows boots now, can login. Unchecked hidden folders. Back to normal This site in other languages x.
